On behalf of the central government, the Lieutenant Governor i.e. LG takes decisions related to Delhi. Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has announced a big good news for about 2 lakh farmers of Delhi.

The method of giving ownership rights of land to farmers living in Delhi has changed. Now the farmers of Delhi will be given ownership rights on the land on the basis of mutation i.e. on the basis of inheritance. How will farmers benefit from land mutation? Let us tell you.

Two lakh farmers will benefit

Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has given a great news to the farmers of 100 urbanized villages of Delhi. LG has changed the process regarding ownership of agricultural land in urbanized villages. Now these farmers will get ownership rights on their agricultural land on the basis of land mutation i.e. inheritance.

Mutation work has started in 12 villages from 19 September. LG’s decision will benefit 2 lakh farmers of Delhi. Camps will be set up in the villages for mutation. DM and SDM will supervise these camps. The people of Delhi have also requested the MPs of Delhi to do checking in these camps.

Mutation was stopped for 14 years

This is also a great news for the farmers of Delhi because mutation for agricultural land was closed for the last 14 years i.e. since 2010. Due to non-mutation, many farmers had to face a lot of loss. Despite having their own land, farmers could not take loan on this land. Delhi LG VK Saxena also apologized to the farmers for the trouble they faced. After the mutation starts, now about 2 lakh farmers of 100 villages will get ownership rights on agricultural land on the basis of inheritance.
